The leaked information confirms the company will pack the car with some big power generating motor, up to 400 horsepower the same engine, which is used by Ascent, Legacy, and Outback. The standard WRX is expected to offer the stick shift or CVT choice, while the STI will continue only a six-speed manual transmission. The car will be a strong rival for Honda Civic Si, Hyundai Veloster N, Volkswagen Jetta GLI, and Golf GTI. The WRX will share the platform with other Subaru models, which the company calls the Subaru Global Platform. Equipped with various underpinnings, the car will have a lower center of gravity to improve its traction with the track. Additionally, all-wheel-drive will be made standard across all the trims. The car will have larger brakes, grippier tires, and stiffer suspension as compared to the present Impreza, with a hope to see those iconic gold wheels on the vehicle. The new model will be longer, lower and more aggressive than the present car and more differentiation than ever before to set it apart from the company’s mainstream sedan Impreza.

Release Date:

The newly redesigned model will debut around June 2021 with a high possibility of arriving in the United States as the 2022 model year.

WRX STI Price:

The WRX’s base model can be expected to line up around $30,000 while the upward STI $40,000.

Specifications:

The WRX STI will feature all-new turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer inline-four borrowed from the company’s line up FA24 in three-row SUV Ascent with some major tweaks to produce lofty 400 horsepower from its current 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque production. Currently, the car is powered by the EJ25 2.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 310 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque in standard trim. The company hasn’t revealed anything related to the engine in WRX base, which presently uses FA-series 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 268 horsepower. The firm suspension will help the car keep excessive body motion in check on the rougher pavement with some moderate feel steering, electrically assisted. The car also comes with an adjustable center differential, which allows the driver to fine-tune the chassis by adjusting the front-to-rear torque split. The pedals are also nicely spaced for the variant with firm brakes returning good and easily modulation. The corporation is also expected to upgrade some features from its present 5.9-inch color information screen along with standard Subaru’s touchscreen infotainment system called Starlink. Sadly, this system doesn’t support basic connectivities like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect. The version doesn’t include a host of driver-assist technology equipment, but a key safety feature includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The warranty for the car is expected to be usual with a limited warranty covering three years or 36,000 miles, the powertrain warranty cover for five years or 60,000 miles with no complimentary maintenance.
