Yes, it is completely true that Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 is again bought back in the upcoming installment of the Spider-Man series. Yes, this time, he will be de-aged as it is almost 17 years past since the release of Spider-Man 2 that was having Doctor Octopus in the villain role for the very first time. Alfred, who is playing the role of Doctor Octopus, was in his late 40s when he first appeared for the role of Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2. But now, as he reached his late 60s, it was a big concern for him that will he be able to do justice to the role of Doctor Octopus at this age in the upcoming film as he has grown much old. It was really a major reason for concern but the director of this film, John Watts, immediately signed him and approved him. He simply mentioned that they would use the de-aging effect for his role that has been used many times in the Marvel film, like for Robert Downey Jr. in Captain America: Civil War.
