Plot Summary of Chainsaw Man:
Denji was stuck with a huge debt from the Yakuza because of his father. He had no way to repay the money when his father passed away. With the help of a Devil dog Pochita, he is now able to work for the yakuza and kills devils to pay off his huge debts. He uses Pochita as a weapon for his fights. Betrayed by the Yakuza, he died because of a Zombie Devil. But Denji was reborn as a human-devil hybrid when Pochita sacrifices itself to bring Denji back to life. These events led him to gain the powers of a chainsaw devil. He can now transform different parts of his body into chainsaws and is a much better fighter than before. He is then recruited by a group of Devil Hunters and offered a job at the Public Safety Bureau. Now that he has the powers to fight even the toughest opponents, Denji will stop at nothing to fulfill his childhood dreams.
Characters of Chainsaw Man manga:
Denji: He is the main protagonist of the series and a devil hunter. He is a rude and brash young man. Initially, he had to join the Yakuza because of his father’s debts but eventually got betrayed by them.
Power: He is a Public Safety Devil Hunter and a part of Makima’s squad. She is a Blood Fiend and has light pink hair and light red horns on the top of her head.
Makima: She is the main antagonist of the Public Safety arc. She is the reincarnation of a Control Devil who has the control of fear. She uses her cunning and manipulative personality to control Denji.
Aki Hayakawa: He is Public Safety Devil Hunter as well as a cursed devil. He is also in Makima’s squad. Aki became a Gun Devil when the Gun Devil killed him. He then became a Gun Fiend.
Reze: Reze is a supporting character in the manga and Denji’s love interest. She is a Bomb Devil and the primary antagonist of the Bomb Girl arc. She appears to be a kind and sweet girl but in reality, has a manipulative and merciless personality.
Kobeni Higashiyama: She is a new recruit in Makima’s squad. She has a timid personality and is afraid of Devils. She is forced to work as a Devil Hunter under the pressure of her family.
Chainsaw Man manga sequel and anime news:
The second arc of the manga will come on the Shonen Jump app. The second part will be released on 4th January 2021. The animation studio MAPPA will be working on the anime.
