Yes, Cruel Summer is taking us to the court for Kate and Jeanette’s case. It was inevitable and we saw it coming from miles away. But this time we may say the finale of Cruel Summer as in Episode 10 will focus on the year 1995. We already have a clear picture of the years 1993 and 1994 from the previous episode. Recap For Cruel Summer
Previously on Cruel Summer, we witnessed the entire timeline from 1993 of what was Kate doing when the world around her dubbed her missing. All this time she was at Martin Harris’ house as she felt comfortable as he took care of her. Questions like how Mallory clicked the tape of Kate in Mr. Haris’ house were revealed. Mr. Harris on the night Kate walked in confronted her as she fell asleep before he left for the school the next day. The entire school dubbed Kate missing when she didn’t attend school. This worries Mr. Harris who returns home to confront Kate for not coming. But before he could move further, the cops have already called in her as a missing person. We saw Kate comfortable with Harris. She spends days with him as they start connecting with each other and stay happy around. Thus, celebrating festivals and spending days cooking and playing with each other. There is a time when Greg almost finds out someone else living with Mr. Harris. But it didn’t go to an extent. Until one night Jeanette walked in while Harris was out and Kate was trying to contact Jamie. Only because she was sick of being inside. Kate hiding from Jeanette makes a sound to scare her leading Jeanette to run away with the Snowglobe. Kate later takes the shot as she is missing her parents and pays a visit to them. Kate finds out they are happy without her and returns. But Mr. Harris isn’t happy about it as he confronts her stating she can’t leave till she is 18. This makes Kate feel kidnapped who leaves to abasement to get her luggage. Harris chances upon and traps her. The rest of six months Kate spend there hoping to get out someday.

Cruel Summer Episode 10 is titled, “Hostile Witness”. The official synopsis for the finale tells the arrival of the court date. We almost saw much of the mystery about Kate’s disappearance unfold recently in the ninth episode. But the tenth episode will be the culmination of what really went down. Plus what will be the future for Kate and Jeanette as they battle it out in court. They will be finally coming out with the truth with nothing to hide. There is a price to pay and every word matters.
