Lupin Season 2 Ending Explained

While Assane was on the run for the death of Leonard, he had made contact with his friend Benjamin. The two of them make use of another Lupin enthusiast who played the role of a financial expert, Phillipe Courbet. Hubert was attending a charity event conducted by his daughter Juliette. The event was arranged to collect money for unprivileged children but, Hubert was aiming to keep all the money for himself. Elsewhere, Benjamin and Courbet managed to get Assane inside the iconic Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Here, Assane is finally able to encounter Hubert as he threatens him with a knife on the box seat. With a knife to his neck, Hubert confesses to his crimes as to how he had framed Babakar. He had only hired Babakar so that he can frame him to have stolen the necklace. This was so that he could get the insurance money. While this in itself was evil enough, Hubert also confesses to how he had Babakar killed as well. He was the one who ordered Leonard to kill Babakar and make it seem like he committed suicide. He gets this confession recorded on a smartwatch, which is then sent to the police. While Assane was tempted to kill Hubert, he wanted him to suffer. Therefore, Hubert is left with the police as Assane again makes his run. He was responsible for many crimes, due to which he had chosen to go off the grid for some time. Before he left, he meets his ex Claire and son Raoul. Elsewhere, while Hubert has been arrested with solid evidence, only time will tell if he manages to escape or not.
