Sarkozy was born on 26th May 1969 in Paris, France. He was born to Pal Sarkozy de Nagy-Bocsa and Christine de Ganay. His father was earlier married and had three children, one of whom was Nicolas. Later, his parents got separated when he was 7. He then lived in places such as Egypt and a boarding school in the UK. After that, he graduated from the University of St. Andrews with an M.A. in medieval history. Sarkozy married Charlotte Bernard in 1990 who was an author of children’s books as well as a freelance fashion writer. They have two children Margot and Julien. They separated in 2010 after which he married Mary-Kate Olsen in 2015. Recently, Mary-Kate has filed for a divorce which the New York Court had rejected saying that the divorce is considered ‘non-essential’ due to COVID-19. The court is only filing essential and emergency matters. She rose to fame as Olsen Twins working in ‘Full House’ after which they had their own production house Dualstar Entertainment Group.
Career:
After his graduation, he started working for an investment bank in the US, known by the name of Dillon, Read & Co. He decided to quit after working there for three years and joined Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked in various senior positions including the Managing Director. After that in 2003, he joined UBS where he served as the Global Co-Head. He worked on huge mergings and acquisitions such as $21 billion sale of LaSalle Bank to Bank of America, the $17 billion merger of the banks in the US, Bank of America buying MBNA for $36 billion and many more. In 2008, he worked with Carlyle Group as Co-Head and Managing Director. In 2016, he resigned from his position. Currently, he is in BankUnited as a member of the Board of Directors.
